Litigation
Many are less clear on what a civil suit is. Usually, the summons heard is a traffic summons. This traffic summons will usually be initiated by the enforcement when a person commits a traffic offence and government agencies such as the police and JPJ will issue a summons for the offence. A civil suit is a suit that can be started by anyone, “civilian” that is against anyone who commits an offence against him.
So when someone initiates a civil suit, a claim for damages will be made against the person who wronged us. These damages include monetary, non-monetary damages such as actions or obstructions sought by a court to ask the person to stop committing an offence or obstruct a person’s actions.
SLP provides legal services to companies, organizations and individuals in matters relating to contractual and commercial disputes, including advising on legal options and prospects, conducting negotiations, instituting demands/claims, conducting recovery proceedings, due diligence and providing representation in litigation and appellate proceedings.

Debt Recovery & Claims
We will help you to identify outstanding debts that can be filed in court. This outstanding debt is different from ordinary debt. Overdue debt is a debt that is paid late for example if someone makes an agreement to provide a loan with someone else, then the borrower fails to pay within the stipulated time then this delay causes the debt to be overdue. For example, if you promise to pay on every 30 or 31 days of each month if you do not repay when entering the 1st day of the next month then it has been considered overdue as well as in breach of contract.
In the context of selling goods or services, the trader will issue an invoice for which the goods and services have been provided. Invoices must be paid within 14 days. If it enters the 15th day and if you still have not made the payment then it is counted as an outstanding debt. When there is a failure to pay within the stipulated time then the law already counts as a breach of contract, the unpaid amount can be claimed in civil court.
